Songwriter Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Songwriter ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the Songwriter mobile app.
1. Information We Process
Songwriter is designed for songwriting workflows. Depending on how you use the app, we process:
- Audio content you record or import (voice memos, bounces).
- Text content you enter (lyrics, notes, references, collaborator content).
- Technical identifiers required for iCloud/CloudKit sync and sharing.
- Optional diagnostics/crash information provided by Apple.
2. How Your Data Is Stored
Songwriter uses Apple iCloud CloudKit for account-backed sync and collaboration. Data may be stored locally on your device and in your iCloud-backed CloudKit containers.
Collaboration links and shared sessions use Apple CloudKit sharing.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide core app features (song threads, memo import/recording, lyrics, bounce notes, collaboration).
- Sync your content across devices and collaborators you invite.
- Send app update notifications related to shared sessions.
- Maintain app performance and reliability.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Your song content is shared only as required for Apple iCloud/CloudKit functionality and with collaborators you explicitly invite to shared sessions.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Data is retained in your local app storage and iCloud/CloudKit until you delete it or remove the app/account data. Shared data may remain available to collaborators based on sharing state and their permissions.
6. Children’s Privacy
Songwriter is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can address it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material updates will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
